About Me
Early Roots
Hi, I’m Corey Brandon — I’m from Martinsville, Virginia, where I attended Magna Vista High School and earned my associate’s degree through dual enrollment with Patrick Henry Community College. I’ve always had a drive to explore new things and challenge myself, which led me to earn my North Carolina commercial real estate license the summer before starting college.
UNC Journey
At UNC-Chapel Hill, I entered as part of Honors Carolina and as an Assured Admit to the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Since then, I’ve been finding my place on campus by getting involved in communities that matter to me — from serving as a student senator in student government to joining the Men’s Club Volleyball Team, Future Business Leaders of America, and the Undergraduate Real Estate Club.

The summer after my first year, I studied economics abroad at the London School of Economics, which helped shape how I think about global markets and opportunity. During my sophomore year, I joined the CEI Board and Sigma Eta Pi, UNC’s premier entrepreneurship fraternity. I was honored to be named a REDI Scholar through the Real Estate Diversity Initiative and later became the Student Relations Chair for the Real Estate Club. I also took on the Recruitment Chair role for Sigma Eta Pi, completed the JP Morgan Sadie Summit program, and the Project Destined Commercial Real Estate Internship— all of which helped me grow both professionally and personally.
That same semester, I accepted a summer internship offer at CBRE and a junior-year internship with JP Morgan both in New York. I also became the External Programs Lead for the CEI Board and launched my podcast, Cor Meets World, where I share conversations about identity, growth, and the college journey.
In my junior year, I stepped into the role of Social Chair for the Men’s Club Volleyball Team, maintained my involvement across campus, and served as Corporate Relations Chair for Pride at Kenan-Flagler, where I worked to strengthen inclusive industry connections. One of the most meaningful experiences that year was working with students from Malaysia and Japan on a sustainability project, which I had the opportunity to present in Kuala Lumpur. I also received the ICSC Milton Cooper Trailblazer in Real Estate Award — a moment that reminded me how grateful I am for the people and opportunities that have shaped my journey.
Hobbies
Outside of school and work, I’m passionate about content creation, lifting, and running. I also love spending time with friends — whether that’s exploring new places, having deep conversations, or just laughing over late-night snacks. I’m always looking for ways to connect, grow, and create something meaningful.
Looking Forward
I’m currently interning at JP Morgan on the Client Solutions team in their Corporate Investment Bank. Long term, I’m excited to pursue a career in commercial real estate investment and development, with a strong interest in the future of retail spaces. There’s still so much to learn, but I’m ready to keep showing up, doing the work, and making the most of the opportunities ahead.
